According to a passenger on the Airbus A321, the aircraft experienced issues with the doors for the landing gear issues. Supposedly, the pilot declared mid-flight that the doors of the landing gear issues were open, but there was no safety concern even though the altitude and airspeed were affected.
At the time of publication, this problem was not confirmed. The A321 was supposed to take off from Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County Airport (DTW) at 07:20 on Sunday but departed ten minutes late.
Less than an hour into the flight, the A321 turned approximately as it was just east of Dayton, Ohio. They returned to Detroit, where it landed at 10:06. Whatever the issue was, it was resolved, as the same aircraft restarted Spirit Airlines flight NK117 at 13:20. The flight was scheduled to land in Orlando at 15:36 and landed 3 minutes later, at 15:39.
2 weeks ago, a Spirit Airlines flight returned to Miami International Airport after a passenger mistakenly yelled “fire.” A passenger onboard Spirit Airlines Flight 3152 confused the plane’s air conditioning system with smoke, and the crew decided to return to Miami International Airport (MIA)out of caution. The aircraft was back on the ground in Miami less than 40 minutes after departure. Once on the ground in Miami, the aircraft was checked, and there was no sign of fire, and it was in the air at 07:45.
Spirit Airlines sent a statement
“There were no mechanical problems on board flight 3152 from Miami International Airport to Boston Logan International Airport(BOS). A passenger saw condensation from the air conditioning system and mistook it for smoke.
The safety of our passengers and crew members is our top priority. The Crew on board completed the necessary checklists to confirm there was no fire and returned to the airport out of an abundance of caution. Law enforcement and fire officials met and cleared the aircraft, which has since continued to Boston.”

Yesterday, National Football League (NFL) star Odell Beckham Junior (OBJ) was escorted off an American Airlines flight that was due to leave from Miami International Airport(MIA). The Boeing 787 had pushed back from the gate and was taxiing for takeoff and to head for Los Angeles International Airport. The crew members went through its safety briefing and informed all passengers that their seatbelt signs needed to be fastened.
Odell Beckham Junior (OBJ) had a blanket over his head and had fallen asleep during the safety briefing. According to the flight crew members, he was unresponsive despite numerous attempts to wake him. Afraid that he was ill and required medical attention, the crew member called the police. The aircraft turned approximately and returned to the gate, where it was met by Miami-Dade Police Department officers.
The crew requested Odell Beckham Junior (OBJ) to leave the aircraft when the police boarded, but he refused, prompting the crew members to deplane the entire aircraft while Odell Beckham Junior (OBJ) stayed onboard.
Once he was the last passenger on the aircraft, the officers informed him that he was required to get off, and he did. According to Odell Beckham Junior’s (OBJ) lawyers, the incident was utterly unnecessary.
