Emirates has announced that it will recruit more than 6,000 new employees over the upcoming six months to join the airline as part of its operational workforce.
Having already restored roughly 90% of its network and anticipating a “sooner than expected surge in customer demand”, the Dubai-based carrier plans to continue ramping up operations across its global network.
In a statement issued on October 24, 2021, Emirates revealed that it plans to hire more than 6,000 additional flight crew and cabin crew members, as well as engineering specialists and ground staff members.
In order to meet increasing passenger demand, which continues to grow as governments begin to ease air travel restrictions, the company has continued to increase the frequency of its flight schedules. Thus, the carrier plans to significantly increase its operational workforce during the next six months. Emirates predicts that by the end of 2021, it will reach 70% of the capacity the airline boasted pre-pandemic.

In September 2021, Emirates started a global recruitment program, where the carrier initially aimed to hire 3,000 flight attendants and 500 airport services personnel to work at its base at Dubai International Airport (DXB), the United Arab Emirates. As the demand for air travel shows signs of a greater increase than originally anticipated, the carrier will now require an additional 700 ground staff in Dubai and across its network.
Following the recent update, Emirates will also be recruiting 600 qualified pilots alongside 1,200 skilled technical staff to join its engineering team in the DXB airport.
