Great news for Indore
The minister said on Twitter “Great news for the people of Indore! Air India is going to start new services between Indore and Dubai that will operate once a week (on Wednesday) currently,” Financial bids for disinvestment-bound Air India are likely to be taken from qualified interested bidders (QIBs) by September 15, Minister of State for Civil Aviation V K Singh had said on July 22 in Lok Sabha.

- Air India which is rolling out the international flight is also offering a new flight to Bengaluru on the same date.
- Following the outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic in the world the operation of the Dubai-Indore-Dubai flight was suspended from March 25, 2020.
- But, with the number of cases coming down, the flight has been restarted.
District collector Manish Singh said that since it’s an international flight, the airport authority has demanded the deployment of an RT-PCR test team at the airport.

We are making the basic arrangements there.
The Centre had invited Expression of Interests (EoIs) for Air India on January 27, 2020. The last date of resignation– after multiple extensions due to the COVID-19 pandemic — of EoIs was December 14, 2020.
