For the first time ever, two Mi-17 1V helicopters of the Indian Air Force in Amrut formation showered flower petals at the Red Fort soon after Prime Minister Narendra Modi hoisted the tricolour at the Independence Day celebrations in the national capital .
“For the first time ever, this year as soon as the National Flag is hoisted by Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the Independence Day celebrations, flower petals will be showered at the venue by two Mi-17 1V helicopters of the Indian Air Force in Amrut formation”
news agency ANI quoted Defence Ministry as saying.
Mi-17 1V is a potent helicopter platform, equipped with modern avionics and glass cockpit instrumentation.
The announcement was shared by Defence Ministry.
They are equipped with state-of-art navigational equipment, avionics, weather radar and are NVG-compatible.
