Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia: Chairs the first meeting of the advisory group on airlines to deliberate on issues facing the airline industry.
Jyotiraditya Scindia, the new head of the ministry of Civil Aviation, India, on Friday, July-23rd, chaired the first meeting of the advisory group on airlines to deliberate on issues facing the airline industry.

The meeting sought to discuss on matters of recovery of the airline industry in the post-covid times.
The first meeting
The union minister provided the information on his Twitter account. “Chaired the first meeting of the advisory group on airlines to deliberate on issues facing the airline industry,” he tweeted.
“Held the first discussion of the advisory group on airport operators to deliberate on issues and the way forward for the sector,” another tweet read.
- The advisory group is headed by the Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia.
Apart from Scindia, Aviation Secretary, Airlines Representatives like SpiceJet’s Ajay Singh, Airport Authority officials were also present in this important review meeting.

Airlines have been constantly raising issues like bringing ATF under GST, aircraft parking fees, among others.

The group also includes Minister of State for Civil Aviation, Secretary of Civil Aviation and Director General of Civil Aviation as members.
Group of Airlines
The advisory group of airlines will advise the government on ways to enhance on several matters.

Some of these include as the domestic and international connectivity, matters related to passenger facilities during air travel, methods to safeguard the viability of airlines, among other things.

Recently, Ministry of Civil Aviation had informed that, under the chairmanship of the Minister of Civil Aviation, it has formed three advisory groups.

This comprises of:
- Airlines
- Airport Operators
- MRO
- Cargo Carriers
- FTOs
- Ground Handling companies
The Ministry also said that the groups will meet regularly to deliberate upon issues. And, resolve challenges facing each sector and orders have been issued for the same.
