An air ambulance carrying a critical patient from Bagdogra in West Bengal to Hyderabad made an emergency landing in Mumbai on Thursday night of May 6, 2021 after its landing gear fell during take off from Nagpur where it stopped for refueling. A CISF Jawan has been rewarded.
DG CISF has announced cash reward of Rs.10,000 to Ravi Kant Avala.
A CISF Jawan spotted the falling rear landing gear of the air ambulance after it took off from Nagpur airport. And, has been honoured with a cash reward. He’s also received a commendation from the force chief, the civil aviation security force said on praised.

Incident
The Jet Serve Aviation C-90 aircraft VT-JIL was operating an ambulance flight from Nagpur. The aircraft was diverted to Mumbai’s Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport. Because, it lost the front landing gear (wheel) while taking off from Nagpur.

The Beechcraft aircraft landed safely at 9.09 p.m. on its belly and all five people onboard were reported safe at the Mumbai Airport.
The airport authorities also foamed runway 27 to prevent the aircraft from catching fire.

Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) is a central armed police force. It is designated as the national civil aviation security force guarding 64 air terminals of the country at present.

The Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) made a statement. They said, its head constable Ravi Kant Avala was deployed at a watch tower. And, it was near the runway of the Nagpur airport noticed around 5:50 pm that the “rear wheel of the aircraft fell off in the air”.
“The Jawan immediately informed the matter over telephone to the Nagpur SOCC (security operational control centre) which in turn reported the matter to the air traffic control (ATC).“
“The Nagpur ATC quickly informed the pilot of the aircraft and arrangements were made at Mumbai airport for safe landing,” the force said.
The plane had landed on a foamed runway at the Mumbai airport at about 9:09 pm Thursday and rescue authorities evacuated those onboard.
Alert and Attentive
“Had head constable Avala not shown alertness, a major tragedy could have occurred during the landing of the aircraft. The keen observation and mindful action taken by the CISF personnel averted a major accident and saved the lives of the pilots and passengers,”
The CISF chief gleamed in profoundness.
