DELHI- India’s largest domestic carrier, IndiGo Airlines (6E) during its 18th anniversary in August 2024 announced the launch of IndiGo Stretch, a new Business Class product. The airline now has taken delivery of the first aircraft, the Airbus A321neo fitted with these seats.

IndiGo A321neo with New Business Class
IndiGo took delivery of the A321neo fitted with Stretch seats on October 30, 2024. Yes, the same day as Airbus delivered the world’s first A321XLR built for a customer (Delivered to Iberia).
According to FlightRadar24 data, IndiGo A321neo, registered as VT-ICF operating flight 6E9001 took off from Hamburg (XFW) at 6:06 PM local time. It will take A321neo around eight hours to cover the 6,027 Kilometers (3745 miles) distance between Hamburg and Delhi (DEL).
The aircraft is expected to land in New Delhi at around 6:25 AM local time (early morning). So if you are a spotter based in Delhi, make sure to arrive early, as the saying goes, the early bird gets the worm and early spotters get the best shot.
Also, IndiGo aircraft with Stretch products will be marked with ‘IndiGo Means Business’ on its fuselage, as seen in the above image spotted by Tobias.
IndiGo’s new aircraft powered by CFM engines will have 12 Business class seats in 2-2 configurations and the total will have 202 seats, i.e. 190 economy seats including XL seats in the Middle of the aircraft and 12 IndiGo Stretch seats.

Where it will Deploy them?
IndiGo Airlines introduces IndiGo Stretch, a premium business product designed for India’s high-traffic business routes. The service features exclusive two-seat bays with enhanced specifications: 38-inch pitch, 21.3-inch width seats, equipped with six-way adjustable headrests and neck support.
The seats incorporate modern amenities including a 5-inch recline capability, electronic device holders, 60-watt USB-Type C ports, and universal three-pin power outlets. Oberoi Catering Services will provide specially curated healthy meal options for passengers.

- Extended beverage selection
- Free advance seat selection
The service launches on the Delhi (DEL)-Mumbai (BOM) route from mid-November 2024 (November 14, 2024), with bookings opened on August 6, 2024. The introductory fare is set at Rs18,018.
IndiGo plans systematic expansion to major metropolitan routes, targeting complete implementation across 12 routes by late 2025. This premium offering aims to serve both experienced business travelers and first-time premium passengers.
Furthermore, the world’s third-largest carrier in terms of valuation, IndiGo, plans to expand its international presence significantly. Elbers stated the airline will add seven new international destinations by the end of FY2024-25, bringing the total to 40.
